ABOUT TANYA NICOLLE
Tanya Nicolle is a writer, comedian, and producer from the province of Prince Edward Island. She has had the privilege of being granted numerous accolades for her writing, including five Island Literary Awards.
In 2022, it was announced that Tanya was a Top 10 Finalist, and invited to compete in the SiriusXM Hubcap Comedy Festival's Open Mic Competition for Atlantic Canada. Tanya describes herself as a small-town comedian, with BIG feelings. Her dark, self-deprecating humour, coupled with silly observations, shines a light on her struggles with mental illness. She has performed at Hells Basement Comedy Club, including on A Showcase of the Funniest Women from Across the Maritimes. She has played at various venues across Eastern Canada, and continues to perform around her home province.
While Tanya is a newer comic, she has become a pillar of the evolving PEI comedy scene, as a respected producer & performer among fans & peers. Her focus is providing safe spaces to give women, people of marginalized populations, and queer comics a voice through comedy.
